Welcome to the Pineapple Academy!
My name is Mrs. Kim Nakakura and I will be the first grade teacher at the Pineapple Academy this school year.
Let me share a little about myself. I was born on the Big Island in Hilo and moved to Oahu after high school. Here, I attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. This will be my 21st year teaching and my 11th year here at Daniel K. Inouye Elementary. I have taught a variety of grade levels throughout my career, with most of my teaching experience in kindergarten and first grade.
I met my husband shortly after I graduated from UH Manoa and have since called Oahu my home. We have two energetic, fun loving children. Our family enjoys traveling, going to the park, going to the beach, experiencing new adventures, and just spending time together relaxing at home.
I am excited for this unique opportunity to work with students from various schools in our school complex. I strive to make this a positive, inclusive learning experience for your child while nurturing their growth and independence. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
If you would like to speak with me, please email me with your question or concern and your phone number, and I will contact you as soon as possible.
