Grade 4

Aloha DKIES Families!

Grade 4 teachers created learning plans* for their students with online learning activities in their Google Classrooms. For more information, please visit your teacher's page (click on staff then your child's teacher's name). If you do not have internet access and/or a device to access these online materials, contact your teacher**.

Please visit our grade level page every Monday morning and click on the sidebar and select Continuity of Learning: Grade 4 for weekly updates from Counseling Support, Library, and Resource Programs.

Mahalo for partnering together with us to ensure your child continues to learn during our time of school closure and for your patience as we explore and discover new ways to connect, create and share.
*Each teacher contacted their families with their plans through Class Dojo, email, and parent letter.
**Teachers will notify specific families of their drive-through packet pick up dates and times.
Aloha!  We are the fourth-grade team.
We work together to teach our students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible community members.
Our students learn about the scientific process and embrace science through S.T.E.M. activities. Students learn about plants, animals, cells, earth shaping forces, chemical changes, and electricity.
For Social studies, we learn about our state's rich history. We learn about Hawaiian culture past and present.
Students enjoy working in groups to read and understand quality literature. They also develop as writers and learn about the beauty of language.
Vocabulary and problem-solving strategies are emphasized as students learn the common core mathematics.
Students use technology to build and share their understandings with classmates and the community.
The outdoor campus is an amazing resource for students to extend their learning from the classroom.
Fourth grade is an amazing place for our haumana!
