Transition Center

Daniel K. Inouye Elementary School's Transition Center was founded in 2005 to help incoming families transition smoothly and successfully.  Since that time, our coordinators have welcomed thousands of students into our ʻohana (family).
The mission of the Transition Center is to be your information resource during this important time.  Welcome folders are presented to families as they complete the enrollment process. This folder contains useful information about ongoing school programs and community resources.
On your child's first day, they will be greeted with a lei in the office by our student greeters.  The greeters will escort your child to their new classroom!

We also know that transitions do not stop on the 2nd day of school.  The Transition Coordinator checks in with new students after a few weeks to make sure they are having a successful transition and is always available for questions.  They also have monthly lunch bunches to follow-up with new students in a group setting.
