Hawaii's Statehood Day
Hawaiʻi’s Statehood Day commemorates the islands’ admission as the 50th state of the United States on August 21, 1959.
Also called Admission Day, this official state holiday is observed each year on the third Friday in August. The first celebration took place in 1969, marking the 10th anniversary of Hawaiʻi’s statehood.
